Honey-Glazed Chicken Wings Recipe: Perfect for AFL Game Day

Honey-Glazed Chicken Wings Recipe: Perfect for AFL Game Day

As the AFL Grand Final approaches, it's time to elevate your game day snacks with a delicious and easy-to-make treat: Honey-Glazed Chicken Wings! Perfectly crispy and coated in a sweet and savoury glaze, these wings will be the star of your game day spread. Here’s how you can make them:

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup of your favourite pure and natural honey co West Australia  raw honey (Redgum or Mixed Blossom recommended)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional for a spicy kick)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Wings: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on the rack and season with salt and pepper. This setup ensures the wings cook evenly and become extra crispy.

  2. Make the Glaze: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the raw honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and chili flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and reduce for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. This honey glaze will caramelize beautifully during baking.

  3. Bake: Brush the wings generously with the honey glaze and bake them in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, turn the wings, reapply the glaze, and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

  4. Garnish and Serve: Once the wings are done, sprinkle them with chopped fresh parsley or sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavour and visual appeal. Serve them hot and enjoy!

Serving Tip:

Pair these delicious honey-glazed wings with a side of celery sticks and your favourite dipping sauce for a complete AFL Grand Final experience.

Make sure these wings make it to your game day celebration and enjoy the perfect blend of sweetness and spice. Cheers to a delicious Grand Final!
